What Will You Stamp? - #144 - Santa's Suit

Welcome to this week's challenge at What Will You Stamp? Each week we feature a different stamp set and start off the challenge by sharing our ideas for using it and then it is over to you. So check out all of the Design Team projects and if you are up for the challenge you can add your projects too. You might even be chosen as our next Guest Designer!

This week we are showcasing Santa's Suit.

This stamp set coordinates with the Santa Builder Framelits. I thought I would use some of the images and framelits that you might overlook. In the set there is a tag and some little shapes that you can use such as the row of trees that I have used here.

I used Bronwyn Eastley's Christmas Chocolate Holder tutorial to make these. This holder is such a great way to package a small gift, decoration, chocolate or brooch as I have done here. You can see another version that I made last week here

It is a great way to package up this simple brooch that I made with a felt stitched circle (that I die cut) and one of the Stitched Felt Embellishments. This could also easily be made into a tree decoration.

To secure the brooch, I have made a little stand using the row of trees. The brooch back just fastens through the end trees to stop it falling out.

I have one more project to show you using Santa's Suit. I made it a few months ago but it is still one of my favourites so I thought I would show you in case you missed it. You can read all about how to make it here

Make sure you check out all of the other projects from the other Design Team members and enter your project. We'd love to see what you create.

Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions + SAB Display Stamper Blog Hop 7

Welcome to the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions + Sale-A-Bration Display Stamper Blog Hop. We are Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all around the world who were chosen as display stampers at our recent OnStage events that took place all across the globe. Over the 7 days of the hop we will show you all the projects we made using the brand new products in the 2018 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogues. Today is the 7th and last day of the hop.

Whether you are starting with me - Lou Kitzelman from the Sunshine Coast, Australia - or have hopped over from the uber talented and member of the current Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team, Tanya Boser, strap yourself in - you are about to see so many new products you just have to have! Better get that wish list handy!

Wow! Somehow we all got through 7 days of hops! What a mammoth task. A huge thanks to Cathy Caines for organising it all for us. For my last post in the hop I wanted to showcase the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. For this card I was greedy and had to use it all - a patchwork of DSP to show it in all it's glory!

And a framed rose coloured with Stampin' Blends just because I could!

I love how easy it is to colour this DSP.

I have 2 more cards using the same DSP that I have already shared but thought I would add them to this post too.

So that rounds up my Display Stamper projects. Thank you to everyone who has had a squizz at my posts this week (and every week if you are a regular follower!). This is a pic of my display board. Not the best pic sorry!

Make sure you hop around to each blog. Be prepared to be amazed! If you miss any of the 7 days of the hop you can see all of my posts here. Next up is the incredibly talented member of the current Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team, Mindy Backes.

ESAD Stampin' Blends Blog Hop

Thanks for joining us for another ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators) blog hop. Today we are featuring Stampin' Blends. Whether you have hopped over from visiting Rachael or are starting with me, you are sure to get lots of inspiration as you hop around.

I absolutely love colouring with my Stampin' Blends and one of my favourite ways to use them is on Designer Series Paper. Today I have a few projects to show you using some new DSP - Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.

I love the big, bold images on this DSP. I can see that I will be having to buy several packs of it!

Someone asked me this week for some tips on using Stampin' Blends. Don't be scared to use them - they are easy and fun! So here are my tips for you - and guess what? - they are exactly the same as my tips for you on watercolouring! All blending can be done the same way!

To blend with Stampin' Blends:

  • Take a deep breath and go for it!
  • Work on one section at a time. If it is a flower, work on one petal at a time.
  • Colour the whole petal in with the lighter Stampin' Blend marker.
  • With the darker Stampin' Blend marker add in some shadow. Add it where the petal is coming out from another.
  • Use the lighter Stampin' Blend marker to lightly blend the 2. As it dries it will look better and better!
  • Try to colour the area 1/3 dark and 2/3 light or vice versa. That is pleasing to the eye.
  • If you are not naturally artistic (I wish I was!) follow this formula for each petal. Don't think of it as a whole flower - just work on one petal at a time - and when you are finished you will be amazed at how great (and artistic) your image looks!

This DSP also works well with the spotlight technique. I die cut the square before colouring.

And my other favourite way to use Stampin' Blends at the moment is with the Colour Me Happy card kit. The kit is stunning and has the makings for 4 each of 4 designs. I have packaged each set of 4 in an embossed acetate box. 4 Christmas presents ✅. I have previously shared one set on my blog. I have used elements from the card kit and coordinating Colour Me Happy stamp set on the box front.

And here are the fronts of the other 3 boxes. When you make up the cards there are some things left over such as sequins, gold tape and banners. I have put them to good use on the box fronts. Sorry about the reflection!

I hope that I have played some part in converting you or allaying your fears. Get them, use them, love them! Next up you are off to visit by friend Nicole Wilson.
